"When are you going to paint the Olds?"
"When are you going to paint the Olds?"
I probably hear that question at least once or twice, anytime I take it to a local cruise or gathering. The truth is, I just haven't had time, and I hate to take it out of commission for months, when it drives so good!
The biggest consumption of my time has been my latest build, that I just wrapped up. I know it's not an Olds, but thought I'd share some pics. The only discussion boards I'm on are this one, and the AACA. I can't post it on the AACA, because they would flip out over what I did to it, lol!

Very Nice, C2' s are always my favorite. Since the other site would flip out, and I am sure you do not want to show favoritism, you can just give it to me as I don't belong to the other site😁.
Seriously, stunning workmanship!

Very NICE 64. Extremely crisp body and nicely upgraded. What are you running behind the LS for a trans? I'd imagine the stock IRS no longer lives where it once did... C4 IRS upgrade? Love the C2 and early C3s.
Here's Dads 68, L75, 3-speed stick. The 300 hp block resembles L79 specs with the right heads. Gets about 375 to the tires.

Thanks for all the kind words, I'm very grateful.
Here's a little more info on the car. While I wish it was mine, it was built for a customer. I do this for a living, so I have essentially ruined a perfectly good hobby, lol! I was fortunate, though, to do just about anything I wanted.
The car is sitting on a Street Shop narrow C7 chassis. It's an LS3 motor, backed with a Tremec 5 speed. To get those huge tires under it, I completely redid the floor from the seats back. It's all glassed, and made to look as stock as possible, just a little narrower between the wheels, and changed the storage areas around quite a bit. The bottom of the car has been body worked and slicked out, just as the top surfaces, including the wheel housings. I hate buffing in general, and really hate buffing floorpans, lol!
Inside the car is a ton of one-off hand made parts. Dash cluster, kick panels, relocated e-brake cover, and the chrome sill plates, just to name a few. The sill plates are actually fiberglass pieces I made, cut out the lettering with a dremel, coated with smoke spectra chrome, filled with clear acrylic, and illuminated. I stole the headrests off the back seat of a kids GMC truck, and fabbed them into the 64 frames. A place called Wicked Whips in Brookville Ohio, did the fantastic leather work, and I highly recommend them. They have done others, and it's never a disappointment. Then there is the Vintage Air, that I changed all around to suit me, and a custom wiring harness I built using a Painless blade fuse block. Ad the tire pressure monitor system, keyless entry, and a few other things I went nuts on.
The bumpers were all tucked and narrowed, and all of the britework and emblems I actually did in the smoke Spectra Chrome.
I really loved seeing the other Vettes, really nice cars. The bad news for the Corvette purist's, though, I'm about to ruin another C2 here in the future, lol!
Again, thanks
Jim
