When did body filler become the new duct tape

Apparently it has many uses. Why in the world would you weld in a floor panel, when you can just spread the body filler like spackle on drywall. Seam sealer who needs it body filler will work just fine. Same as taping a drywall seam. Makes a great trunk liner as well nice thin coat over the entire trunk area it's like skim coating a cinder block wall. Seals and bonus hides for resale.
Getting tired of hacks. I see it in my business as an electrician constantly repairing what other hacks already got paid for. I guess after 40yrs it's bound to see a hack or two or someone's penny pinching extra thrifty all caulk is the same father in law. Sorry that got a little personal. Anyway back to the grind,
I got it, I'll do it, I'll take care of it, Smash will get it np, I'm not busy, I got time, I didn't want to drive it anyway.

Damn it !!

My old 66 parts car was special.
The trunk was rotting so he laid down fiberglass mat haphazardly and then poured the resin over it and called it good. My trunk was all shiny. lol
