Wheel Spacers, Or Not.

I have a '49 Olds 98 convertible. The custom front clip I used to mount the LS engine using S10 suspension has too narrow a front track. It is 57.5" and it should be 59.5". I thought about using wheel spacers with a 1.0" concentric hub on each wheel, but I was told with 4.75" spacing they would need to be a special build and they were charging me $500 for the pair. I cancelled the order and I have to pay a $75.00 service fee for the cancellation.
In fact, I would rather buy the steel wheels with a 1.0" offset and stay with the 15" steelies since I like using the Olds sombrero hubcaps. Or I just go with a custom set of 18X8's in back and 18X7's in front with the correct offset. Any suggestions?
Bob

I'm sorry, they're charging you how much to make spacers??? You can buy a set of GM hub centric spacers for like $100. I've had them on various GM cars for the past 4 years and I haven't had a single issue.

Do a search on amazon, I've found hub-centric ones for under $50.

The following ones are for metric studs as used on the newer S10's

http://www.amazon.com/ECCPP-Hubcentric-Chevrolet-Riviera-Pontiac/dp/B0719C7TJK/ref=sr_1_10?dchild=1&keywords=hubcentric+wheel+spacers+4-3%2F4"&qid=1635552125&sr=8-10 http://www.amazon.com/ECCPP-Hubcentric-Chevrolet-Riviera-Pontiac/dp/B0719C7TJK/ref=sr_1_10?dchild=1&keywords=hubcentric+wheel+spacers+4-3%2F4"&qid=1635552125&sr=8-10

I actually used this brand on my S10.

Some hub-centric brands will not clear the front hub on the pickup chassis, but will work with the Blazer front end due to different hub design.

Non hub centric ones are not a problem.
