Tunnel Ram on the street?

So since tunnel Rams aren't really beneficial until your in the 4000+ rpm range, and the 455 makes peak power in mid 3000s with a red line in the high 5000s, does anyone have a tunnel ram on their street driven 455? Always loved the look, but I don't want it to be counterproductive.

Watch engine masters, they have proven many times tunnel rams don’t necessarily kill torque. Considering it’s all but impossible to hurt the torque curve of a BBO, if your willing to find the tuneup to make the engine happy you could have the look and drive it

I agree. The hardest part is going to be tuning it.

I also have a pet peeve with stuff sticking out of the hood and little tires out back. Is it tubbed?

Tunnel Ram screams 1980's. Very difficult to tune. Look cool on a street rod etc but as far as a driver? I would rethink it.

He's going for the mid 60's Gasser look, I think the tunnel ram would look great, Unless he could afford one of the Can-Am experimental fuelie manifolds.

Coastie,
If you find your tunnel ram, get a pair of small cfm carbs(600cfm or less) with vacuum secondary's. Those will make it easier to tune for street driving.

Found this one, its $1400 with everything you see

Didn't read that it was an early gasser. Of course a Tunnel Ram fits the bill. That or a blower...

So but that ad you offered has one carb. Isn't the point of a tall Tunnel Ram to have multiple carbs? That does look like a nice set up.
