What where you driving in 1988?

I had a white 79 supreme Cherry Red interior buckets seats, console and dual vanity mirrors 😎,
I swapped in a 79 H/O 350/TH350 w/ shift kit, headers, 2.5" true dual glass pack exhaust, had the rare Dual Gate Shifter along with the rally gauge cluster with the H/O 2:43 gears out back.
It was a really fun car! I could get 3rd gear chirp's on 245/60R14's, wish I had a photo.
I also sported this 80 Cobra, many good times in her too, should have kept it you never see them.

Besides my 71 Chevelle we had my Wife's 84 Riviera and a 1985 Chevy K-5 Blazer. Only pic I have handy is the Buick. This picture was taken a few months ago

In 1988 I was driving this piece of junk, a 1985 442, ordered it new and still have it today:

In 1988 my daily driver was my 1979 blue Cutlass Calais which I bought in 1984 form the original owner. I still have it right here in my garage in South Carolina. This car will be outside the funeral home when I croak.

In '88, my beater was a '77 Dodge Tradesman 100 panel van, my wife's car was a '77 Camaro LT, and my cherry car was my '68 Cutlass that I still own.

I was driving my 1978 Trans Am I bought new, the obligatory blk/gold combo. It originally had a 400 with an "enormous" 180 HP and Turbo 350. In '84 I put in a '70 455 out of a Catalina that was nicely "upgraded" and a B&M Turbo 400 with the Hurst Dual Gate shifter that was available for direct replacement on the '70 to '81 F-body consoles. It was a fun car.

Not driving yet. I was a passenger in our 1975 Cutlass 4 door, nicknamed "The Beast". Olds 350 powered, took hellish abuse a few years later from my Sister's boyfriend.

Was daily driving my 1966 Olds 98 convertible in LA just after college. I discovered self-service junkyards, basic repairs and had all kinds of fun running the car up & down from SF to LA. Top up or down, as need be.

Wasn’t until 1994 that I made the move to a modern vehicle a Mazda MX-6 with the V6, more or less a little nicer Ford Probe

1986 Mustang GT. This isn't it - just an internet grab of one like it. My '69 442 convertible was in the driveway by this time but way too rough to use daily.

As a young, single 25 year old Chrysler District Manager I got a new Company Car every 3-4 weeks but these pics show a Jeep and a LeBaron Convertible. I had 4 personal cars at the time 86 Grand National, 72 Chevelle SS, 70 Z/28, 69.5 A12 Road Runner. My Newburgh IN house had a 2 car garage that I could get 3 into… then later in 88 moved to Missouri and that house had a 3 car garage that I could get 4 cars into! Before wife and kids… still have some of these… plus some others and 3 68 Oldsmobiles.

1981 Chevy Citation X-11
135 HP! Pretty fun for my daily driver out of college, do not recommend moving from the northeast to Florida without AC.

Just turned 16 and had a 72 U code Supreme. A/C, cruise, buckets and console. Originally gold but we had it painted white and added the SS1s, 70 Sport mirrors, a Dual Gate, Rally Pac, power seat, sport wheel 442 bumper and power trunk release. And yes, I still love the wing on a Supreme.

Right around that time wife and I had the 2 most recalled cars as of then. I drove a 1980 Pontiac Phoenix and her a 1977 Plymouth Volare station wagon. They both were good cars.

I was still walking to work, didn't get my license until the following year. I did already have my first car, though, a gold 66 Impala, 283 2bbl with a powerglide.

'68 4-4-2 hardtop, Scarlet with black vinyl top and black bucket interior. 455 swap, THM400. DD in good weather, for a beater I had a '63 Bel Air 4-door sedan, Ivy Green with matching interior, 283/170, PG. Both cars met ignominious demises, the Olds from an electrical fire, the Chevy from lending it to a buddy who left it parked in neutral, only to watch it roll into an intersection. I also had a Honda CB1100F.
