What is this tool for?

Double your sockets, double your fun?
Serpentine belt tool?

It fits into std 1/2" drive sockets
Nearby was a similar unit but male 1/2 square one end and large flat blade screwdriver other end.

Found it at the store today, last time seen, never = had to have it.

I'm guessing here but it may be for a simple ratchet that only clicks one way, then you push the drive (pictured) through and flip the the ratchet to turn the other way. Handy for tight spots.

Very old snap on ratchets where like that. Like the first ones. I have one from an estate sale and it clicks only one way and you flip the die and put the socket on the other end for the reverse action.

The socket with the large flat screw driver end could be for tie rod ends...loosen/tighten as used for '57 and earlier.
