What is an "A" title mean

http://m.ebay.com/itm/1971-Olds-Cutl...257Ciid%253A23
This car is still for sale and again is listed in the salvage title car section of eBay. Not trying to beat him up but he insists it not salvage but I've seen it twice now in the salvage parts section of eBay. Says it's an "A" title and not to press buy it now till contacting him. Anyone know what A title means?

Well then , someone needs to teach him to use eBay. Anyone looking at his add like I did is going to have doubts. If it's not a salvage parts car then it should NOT be listed as one. I said a while back I saw it in salvage section. Just proving it was and is there. It should have sold by now but something is stopping it.

An A-title could mean actual mileage or second owner.

I think its a throwback term from when I was kid....our titles, before the age of computer everything had assignments on them and they listed the trail of the vehicle, not to be confused with S (salvage) and R( reconstructed) - this is in PA and YMMV.

nowadays I know that PA re-issues the title with one owner, but they retain the original title date and history, just don't show it.

so, perhaps he just means 'title from original purchaser when the MSO/MCO was converted'?
