What size trailer ?

I want to trailer my '75 Delta 88 Royale to shows come spring. Is a 16' 7000lb dual axle w/brakes appropriate for the job ?

Is the 7000 lbs gross weight? I assume usable payload is around 5000 lbs. That and the length are cutting it close. I have a 10,000 lb, 18 ft trailer, and while weight isn't a problem, length is close with my Custom Cruiser on it.

16' is going to be pushing it on the size. I would recommend 18' at a minimum.

I know my '66 442 is 17' long. The main question is if the deck is 16' or is the length 16'? Some people measure them differently. The car will fit on a 16' deck but the tail will stick off the rear a bit. You will also be pushing it close to the max weight. A typical open car trailer is 2000lbs give or take a few. A 17' Featherlite open trailer weighs in at 1300lbs with a 7000lb gvw but costs $5k new.
