I've got the hots for a gangster ride
There was a 1933 Oldsmobile 4 door for sale in Willows CA.It turned me on to the point that I was looking to mortgage the homestead to buy it. She was the ultimate gangster ride and I still get hot flashes when I think about it, or was that my wife. Oh well it's still high on my bucket list.....Tedd

1970 Agean Aqua 442 W-30 post car with a 4 speed, bucket seats and a rear wing and not much else. My neighbor had this car while I was in school. He sold it when I was 16 (1983) and I could not come up with the $1600 to buy it.

there is a '49 or '50 olds coupe out north of town, turned upside down on a pile of scrap...i've managed to save the 303 with the hydramatic...no front clip or doors, i need to get back out there and see if i can figure out what it is... i do know that it's a coupe, i'm figuring an 88... no sign of a roof, need to snoop some more and see what it is. the frame is perfect so i may peel it off the body for a rat rod or if it's a vert and the body isn't completely trash try to save the whole thing.

With so many great restorations choices, I'd have to say...
Hands down, I would restore the OLDSMOBILE company. Enough said!

If I could restore any car at all it would be my FIL's 1958 Impala Convertible I am storing in my garage...
as far as any olds.. I like too many.. the Jetstar in my garage.. or a 66 442.. or.. just for fun a 71 cutlas.. or a 69 HO..

If I could find this, I'd leave it just the way it is [img=http://img849.imageshack.us/img849/5103/s001a.th.jpg]

Mine would be a 66--442 not trip car but a f-85 hardtop 442-4spd bench seat GTO Blue w/Black Vynl top and 4.33 Posi. Just like my Original that I purchased New and took deliver of in May of 1966.Black interior/tinted glass also.

i have 2 i would love to restore. I love the look of gassers minus the patina people are into. I would do a 1956 rocket 88 with a 350 olds with dual quads and a 4 speed and 4.88 gears with a killer old school panel paint job complete with a straight axle. My other would be a 1970 post coupe f85 painted metallic brown with black interior flat hood with my current drive train . I am trying to make the 70 post coupe happen and im looking .

None taken. I have a vert but my dream Olds would be a hardtop 68 Cutlass. Mild pro touring. I say mild because I want it better than factory but not going to race Vettes and Porsches. Rather drive it on the street and enjoy it w/o any kidney issues.

If I could chose any Oldsmobile to restore, I'd have to chose my Delta 88.
After seeing some of the beautifully painted and upholstered ones on here, I see lots of potential in my 74.

I would have to say a 1966 442 F85 Hardtop L69 Autumn Bronze bench seat, with of course the mandatory third pedal. I actually owned that exact car and sold her years ago. I am on the hunt for another one but for now my F85 deluxe will have to do

1971 442 W-30 4-Speed, Viking Blue, Post
1971/72 Vista Cruiser, Blue (w/OAI for fun)
1969 442 W-30 4-Speed, Black
1966 Toronado
1967 Delmont 88 Convertible
...AND the aforementioned 67 442 Convertible...
If I had more money than sense, I would like be like Leno. That is just the Oldsmobile list.

Interesting thread. I go by favorites in manufacturers:
Oldsmobile = 1969 442 Convertible, White over blue. Boring for many, I am sure, but to me a true gem.
Chevy = 1957 Nomad, Red with all the chrome. My father had one (long before I was born) but I was always amazed with how it looked in the pictures.
Buick = 1948 Timbs Streamliner (haha) or a 55 Roadmaster Convertible (or HT)

If I wanted something really early, it would be a pre-War Packard. But I honestly don't know which one.
Having said that, I don't have all that much space (and even less money) so I'll probably try to finish my 71 before I do anything else. I still have a long way to go on that, too.

If you find one of these on a special somewhere, I'm certainly in.
I've liked the way that car looked since I saw it for the first time. I've been to a number of automotive museums in the US and in Europe and I've never seen one in person.
Someday I'll put one in the garage next to my 71 Cutlass.

Just wait a little while longer, that 69 H/O will be down to $40,000. Those cars have really plummeted in value in the past 2 years. People can't sell them.
Even though I love my 70 442 and love the Pace Cars, I have to admit I get a little tired of these 'one color scheme' cars, like the 70 Pace, 68 HO, 69 HO, Rally 350. You seen one, you seen them all.
I would love to restore a 65 442 like the first car I had, but I think that's only natural to still love your first car. I also dig the 1955-1958 Oldsmobiles.
