What kind of car is this?

 

49-50 Chevy Special Styleline 2-door sedan.

 

The split windshield and rear window trim says 49-50. Looks like either a 50 Futuramic 88 or 76 or a 49-50 Chevy. The tail lights and bumper scream 50 Chevy and chevy didnt get the one piece windshield until 53...Sooo....
The split windshield was replaced in Oldsmobiles mid year in 50 with the one piece.
What did the reg sticker say?

i say 48 or 49 olds,minus the rear 1/4 chrome fins.

 

I agree with rocketraider. Tail lights are '49-'50. Grille is about the only other difference as the '49 models had numerous vertical bars under the lower grille bar and the '50 models did not. My '50 Olds sedan is the same body with a longer wheelbase than the Chevs. for the Olds fenders and hood.

 

The difference on the 49 and 50 Chevy, in the rear, is 49 had a twist handle to open the trunk, 50 had a more emblem typle with the lock. Also tail light housings were the same, but 49 were flat, and 50 were raired up at the top. Also in the front the grill was different, and the interior colors were different. But this car is a little coustom changes made, so hard to tell if 49 or 50, but it is one or the other, and the lites look like 50.

 

The windows were tinted, but my buddy and I thought we saw a rocket emblem.and olds on the inside of back window
