What have I done? Another Olds!

Purchased the other Olds from my mother in law today. A 1963 F-85 4 door. Low miles. All original. Runs great and no issues.

Pics to follow. (Along with transportation to NC...sometime...)

Wife says no more cars for now. HAHA!

Well, nobody said anything about this being a wise or an unwise decision, so I'm just gonna flip a coin.

I have none for now. So you are going to have to use your imagination a little. Here is what I know:

- dark blue color

- 8 cyl

- auto on column

- 4 door

- around 30k original miles

Are the sedans rare? I'm having problems even finding a dark blue one on google.

I wouldn't go as far as to say the 63s are rare, but they are scarce, scanning the Web for the last year or so, it seems like more convertibles have been saved then the 2 and 4 door versions.....

Forgot to take some pics while I was up north. My wife's grandpap told me that the gas tank is weak and although it runs and drives well, he would recommend replacing before a long trip. So it looks like I might have to trailer this one here also.

Does it have dent at all four corners where they parked by sound. That is pretty common in elderly folks cars.

I like your humor. Maybe it does. I was given a price by my mother in law and bought it at that price before I closely inspected it. Maybe I should have asked for the "dented discount."

thats funny.years ago i bought a 65 pontiac catalina 2 dr post car from a little old lady.all 4 corners were bent up,but in her defense it was a narrow garage the mirrors had about 2 inchs of clearance on each side.

My first Cutlass was owned by my aunt and was 8 years old with 60k miles on it. Apparently she hit anything that got in her way, it was hit more times than Joe Lewis.

Still no pics. Sorry for that. I haven't been around to get any.

Was confusing the car with a Starfire in another thread, since I haven't even sat in it...or ever paid much attention.

So, I'm planning on getting the car down here this month. Crazy, I know with the cold weather, etc...but we are making a trip up to PA and I want to see how my new ride can handle the towing. At least this car runs... Now I have one question:

What is the length of a 1963 F-85 Cutlass 4 door? I'm doing some garage planning and need to make sure it is going to fit in with the small amount of room I have left for totes and other junk I have. I'm thinking it was around the length of the 442, but I'm not positive on that.

If you know, please post...thanks!

A little further research here including this: http://oldsjunction.classicoldsmobile.com/prod6472.html

I am still confused. Maybe the car is simply an F-85 Deluxe because if that is all the 1963 were available in and not the "Cutlass" trim then that's what the car is. I'll have pics in a few weeks.

Thanks! I have bookmarked those sites. Looks like it is quite a bit shorter than the 442. Around a foot.

Overall length is of the 63 is 192.4 inches. I believe the F85 Deluxe is the Cutlass trim, as the Cutlass emblem on my 63 is right smack dab in the middle of the dash!

Nice...thanks! I haven't even sat or looked inside the car. All I know is that it has steel wheels with hubcaps...actually they may belong to the W-30, now that I think of it.

The wheels have codes, sometimes by the valve stem, but all wheels were stamped on the inside.

I will check them when I get a chance. Although I just saw a pic online via a search and those were only 4 lug wheels???
