What do these escutcheons go to?

So as I try to put my door panel on I have two different types of escutcheons but not the one I need - go figure. Well I would at least like to know the application for these two. I have the 70 sport mirrors and will look to place an ad in the want section for the proper escutcheon.

Tom, I think these are both for the chrome remote mirror used from 1969-72. I've got some of these and can check the casting numbers. Would you post them to make sure I'm reading them right? I've got a photo like the short one with the casting number 10 1616

John, the shorter one is 10 1616 and the longer one is 396643

Is there a difference in escutcheons between the chrome mirror and the sport mirror? I thought there was.

Yes, the sport mirror has a different design. It should be part number 1386371

I just installed one like the shorter one on my 70 442 yesterday. The longer one appears to match those used on the sport mirrors on the 71's. I have one of each year and there is definitely a difference. They are both for sport mirrors.

The smaller one’s number does not match up with what is in the Parts book. I was searching around the site before posting and I found an ad for a 70 escutcheon for the sport mirrors that was an NOS. https://classicoldsmobile.com/forums...rt-mirror.html

I clipped the picture to use as a reference. I’ll give the smaller one another try since you were able to do it with yours. Thanks!
