What to do with my car.....when!!!

I found out today at my visit to my cardiologist that the old ticker has problems.
I need to start making a plan for my car for when!!!
My family has no interest in it and I'm not really interested in selling it right now.
My question is, are there any serious collecters or museums that would finish the car after "when".
Here is a brief overview of the car:
1962 Oldsmobile Starfire convertible
Body off frame restoration
Paint and body work by Atlanta Restoration, frame power blasted and powder coated
394 engine by Ross Racing Engines and 700R4 conversion
This will be an air conditioned car
Pos-traction rear end
Vintage Air Gen IV
Much more
Like I said all this is going to happen after "when", but the planning needs to begin now.

Does the car run & drive? If so, enjoy it as much as you can now. You might get it appraised so your family knows what to sell it for if the unthinkable happens. If it doesn't currently run & drive why are you wasting time on a forum? Get out there and get her on the road while you can.

Dennis, sorry to hear about your health problems. Hopefully it can be treated. I got a wakeup call 15 years ago when I had to have quintuple bypass. That went very well and combined with diet and exercise changes I now feel better than I did at 30. Good luck to you.

Dennis, I know how you are feeling right now. Your car has been a large part of your hobby and means a lot. If it is a project that is not finished you would like to know that it will be some day after "when" happens. If it is not a project and you just drive it and enjoy it; knowing that family members do not have the same affinity for it as you is a tough one. I don't have an answer for you but maybe my empathy helps out in some way.

I hope your doctor is wrong about your diagnosis and you get to finish your project car and you get to drive it for many years. None of us know the 'when', it's best to live a day at a time and enjoy the time we've got left.

As far as trying to make a plan for the car in the future in the event that you don't get it completed the Peterson Museum comes to mind. They are a very reputable organization that has the means to take care of your wishes for the car.

Your family are idiots😁. My 70 isn't worth what you're car is but one, if not two of my Daughter's would want it. Maybe donate it to a museum or your family can set it off. You have the right to keep it as long as you see fit. If all that is done, sounds awesome as is. What is left to be completed?

I appreciate your post.
It sounds like it is important the 62 does not get lost in the shuffle and some peace of mind prep on your part will ease the transition.
I agree.

One of the first things that came to mind was to contact the local Olds or other car club folks in your area and find out if they have an interest with the process, car guys and families understand this kind of thing.
Upon your "When" maybe the 62 gets signed over to the club under your pre-condition wish. Maybe a fund raiser raffle, maybe an auction with the proceeds going to St Judes or a charity of the agreement ...?

What ever you plan will be good because you will know now and wonder "When"

Good luck with the outcome and god bless

Thanks guys, this is the kind of support that I was looking for. The Peterson Museum is a choice and Jay Lenos collection, the collection doesn't have a Starfire much less a convertible.
Again, thank you all

Hi Dennis,
Sorry to hear about the old ticker acting up. With the advancements in heart health every day things might change for your condition. As far as getting your affairs in order with your Starfire I would contact Pat Mc Millan at Dr Oldsmobile Museum in Robinson Il. Pat is building an Oldsmobile museum and has a 62 coupe, not sure if he has a convertible.
Worth a call, his number is 618-554-4362
Give me a call when you get some time 905-775-2641
Steve
