What crank pulley do I use. It's a 330 I think 64

I've got a 64 330 water pump and a 64 crank pulley with the water pump pulley being off because the crank pulley doesn't come out far enough.. like an 8th of an inch.. I was told it's a hi compression 330 out of a 64 f85 but I'm not sure. All other parts I've been buying have been for a 64 f85. What cars and with what motors came without a harmonic balancer

Odds are, no cars came without a harmonic balancer. But an 8th of an inch is not much. I know that the water pumps have different shaft lenght’s depending if Air conditioning or not. If just that small of a offset, ? Gasket thickness ? Good luck

What crank pulley or water pump do I use for my 64 330

I ve got a 64 330 with the hub no harmonic balancer and I'm using a water pump from a 64 f85. My crank pulley sets farther back that my water pump by about a 1/4in. Is the water pump need to be for a jetstar or is there 2 different depth crank pulleys? Lmk its all this thing needs thanks

My stock 64 has a one-year-only water pump, the lower hose is on the driver's side. Maybe your 65 pump has slightly different geometry. Hope this helps.

I think you could use the 1964-66 pulleys for an engine without a damper. Be sure you put the correct 1964 timing marker on the engine. Or be prepared to create new marks on the balancer to time it from.

Which pulleys (crank or water pump) align correctly with the alternator?

The 1964 Oldsmobile Service manual says that a harmonic balancer is used on all cars equipped with a 4 bbl. carburetor. Hence, I "assume" the 2 bbl. wasn't. This was for the series 30-33 with the V-8. See page 3-155

Here's some pictures of the 1964 330 timing tab location with the 1964 only water pump. Then pictures of a 1968 350 timing tab, which was used from 1965 on. I know your asking about pulleys but I think this is an additional thing you need to be aware of. If you put the newer timing tab on the drivers side you may need to scribe or paint the balancer for the correct location of TDC.

looks like a low compression smaller 64 330 dampner and dont think thats a 64 waterpump for cutlass.
changing the dampner wont fix it but changing the waterpump should.

The 1964 hub and balancer are unique to 1964 due to the passenger side timing tab. The TDC mark is obviously in a different place as compared to those on later motors. The mounting face that the pulley attaches to is the same distance from the front cover as it is on any other 1964-1990 Olds motor.

I merged your identical threads. It is neither necessary nor in your best interest to post the same question multiple times. You'll get a better answer sooner if all responses are kept in the same thread.

Have you located a set of pulleys yet? Since Joe verified the balancer you have is the same thickness as a damper/balancer combination then you need to get a set of pulleys that will match up to your power steering pump pulley and the depth of the water pump.
