what can you tell me about this air cleaner?
i had never seen one of these air cleaners till about 2 weeks ago. now i was looking at cars on line and see this one. is it a rare air cleaner or have i just not been looking.

It looks like the one found on '71 non-OAI 442s and at least some of the '72 V-code (four-speed?) cars.

I have the same one on my 71 442 non OAI car which is original. I guess it could be rare when you have to find one. I never looked.
