The child birth rate for members will probably spike in about nine months.

I kept busy and climbed all the trees in my yard and manually de-leaved them so I could get all the raking and blowing done once and for all.

I also worked on my cars and went cruising, novel idea at that.

It's being screwy still. If you hit submit and the green progress bars go slow hit preview and you'll see the post has been submitted in the old posts below it most of the time.
That was going on for a while before the great crash of '09 too.

I got bored so I went to Casa de pot [Home Depot] to get some lumber to build another garage. I also bought some concrete to mix for a floor.

When I finally got things loaded up, things started to go bad.

Man, I was going through withdrawals for the last few days. Couldn't get onto the site, couldn't post at all. Glad we're back.

Halayouya!!

I have not been able to get on for the last couple days so hopefully this will post. same problems a few days ago when I post a response , when I hit the post reply it seemed really slow loading and was not sure it would but found if I went over to the sidebar and scrolled to the top then it would post it. Maybe it is going to work and they get out the kinks. Who the heck has nothing better to do than sit around thinking up new viruses to aggrevate people like us. Well time to hit "post reply" and see what happens.

Well it still went really slow when I hit the submit button. I scrolled up to the top of the page and clicked forums and then it posted right away. my worry is that it is still slow which is what started this whole thing until it crashed. To those working on getting it better... GOOD WORK. many folks here just happy to be back.

I'll check in the morning to see if this was just a fluke. heck, I'll know in a minute when I post this.

I said 'Yay!' when the site loaded. Missed this site for some Olds related reasons....

Same problem here. It is still taking FOR-EVER when you click on the Submit Reply button. If you hit it again, it comes up telling you have just submitted a duplicate message, and then you have to go in and delete one of them.

Things aren't quite back to normal yet, at least not as of this writing.

That's hilarious! Thanks for the morning laugh!!

The site seems to be working great now! For a couple of days leading up to the "big crash" I found that it was getting slower and slower until finally, nothing. Now it seems like its up to speed and revving like a fine-tuned rocket!

Fired it up this morning from an email link and it blazed a trail right to CO. Took all of 2 seconds. Not bad. Did one post so far and it seemed to be working normally. I'm sure there's still plenty of IT people working out the final problem solving. Glad it's back; it's like getting family back when you haven't seen or heard from them for awhile

Glad to have back. With all the rain we had I couldn't work outside and with nothing to do inside I sat around. couldn't get on to even waste time at work. really sucks when you can't waste time at work.

I sent Omicron a msg that this thread could be closed now since the site it up and running properly? again. Might have been a little premature. There' s still a few kinks to iron out for posting. Also, have any of you noticed that the server is not sending you any emails about threads you are subscribed to? I have a feeling that one day the server will puke out 300 emails that should have been maybe 15-20 a day.

The whole sytem went down for a little while this morning too. They may have been finishing up stuff or something. I get posts from a few days back and different member's names online sometimes, weird.
Did anybody else notice the new member's name when you could get just the main page to come up the day it was crashing?

It was "f#ctupq".

I don't know if it was a real person that was booted for the name or the cyber-attacker's idea of a joke.

BTW...Who is that guy "Array" that has a birthday every few days??

???? News to me. I know it's really frustrating at times. I did ask Paul to let everyone know what happened and what's been / being done to resolve IT issues. So for now maybe I'll start changing my BDay so I can have a new one every few days Then I'll have to check whether the dirt pile out back is older than me. I win!

Not receiving email on posts made to threads created or contributed to. This has got to be a database and /or server issue.

It's good to be back!! Still slow loading the posts and I get that "duplicate" post sometimes, but it's going pretty fast overall.

I have not gotten any emails since the problems started either. As far as posting a response it loads slow and if you click it again it will say " duplicate post" so DO NOT CLICK TWICE. I have found a way to make it load quickly , if you go over to the side bar and scroll it to the top of the page then hit "forum" or any of the buttons on the top of the page it will load right away. it should do it by itself but for now this works for me. I am sure it will work for all of those who are having problems with their responses loading slowly.

X2. Just when you think this site is predictable and stable.....it starts showing its feminine side. And that's definitely not the prettiest one either! My wife changes her moods less often than this site

Yeah! It's a real bummer. I like to get them and am really going into withdrawal. Now I actually have to search through threads to see what's newest posts are. Hope it gets solved soon. Help has been requested, so I' guess patience will be a virtue. Pat(cittcap) suggested that if you need a response, use the PMs to get in touch.

There's no harm in clicking twice. I find that if I don't, the system just hangs after I click "Submit Reply." When I click "Submit Reply" again, it yells at me because I've submitted a duplicate message, but then when the thread page reloads, no duplicate message is there.

Even if there is a duplicate message, it's no problem to delete one of them. Just click the "Edit" button and then the "Go Advanced" button, and one of the options on the next page near the top is a button to "Delete this Message." It asks for a reason, so just type in "duplicate message."

I'm not, either. This and the "submit reply" issue certainly indicate that problems remain.

true there is no harm clicking it twice but either you have 2 responses or have to delete one. I found that going back to the top and clicking on forums or any other one at the top of the page then it loads right away.

Of course that is only if the server is working. It took me half a day to delete a duplicate post of mine back on Thurs or Friday...

Today - so far so good...

Crap! Only 99??? My wife opened the email browser and it popped in with over 140 CO's. Then it went nuts and started delivering batches of 22 at a time!! My email cup is running over. I still like to see what's being said, and the preview pane is a great way to do it. View, read, delete, carry on. blink, etc.
