Is there anybody that has definitive build dates of the 69 version of the 255s? I have been tracking these and have come up with 2 dates....any help would be great.

carb

I just found a old pic of the 69 255 carb that I sold.
THERE IS NO BUILD DATE.
Now I remember that when I questioned it some guys said some carbs had no build date.
Possible different plant?

I haven't seen/heard that, but could be. What I have found is 1/2 dozen with late 68 date and 1 may 69, although I haven't seen or confirmed that one. The quest continues.....
Thanks for checking!

Here's the pic
Sorry it's a bit blurry, but you can see there is no build date.

I'm not sure how the date may or may not have ended up there, but after rummaging through some of my carbs. I have found some having the 7 digits and some 5 (non w's) through several years and a couple do not have dates. Check out the carburetor on the f85, rally green that has been discussed on here recently, being sold as a w31. That 255 doesnt have a date. second one in as many days! Thanks for the pic! Looks like you're rebuilding it. Good luck.

I’m pretty sure the dates were stamped on the side of the throttle body.

I looked at a handful of 69s that I have. A 251 dated 68, none of them had any numbers on the base plate.

Do any of the viewers remember this car or know the owner? It was around for sale, several times '17 I'm trying to get information as to the carburetor. The seller stated it had the right carb/date. I'd like to get the missing information.

If I remember correctly, Olds24 or Olds26 (on this site) in Iowa had it.
