VIN search

Just curious if anyone can recommend a site to find out my 71 Cutlass vehicle history. I just want the facts about my car not site memberships. Any recommendations?

Yeah, sorry. There's no database of "older" VINs that anyone is aware of (check with the NSA...).

Unless the car was originally sold in Canada, that info no longer exists. GM of Canada does have info for Canadian built or originally sold cars, and can provide the data for a fee. Other sites that claim to provide an info package are simply copying generic data that you can get from the service manual or sales literature available for free on line. I do suggest oldcarbrochures.org, where you can see the salesman's info brochure that shows all the available options on each model.

Now, see, I thought the OP was asking whether there was a way to find out where his car had been - Owners, Towns, States, Accidents, Service, etc., just like you'd find in a "Vehicle History Report."

You guys are all talking about finding out what was attached to it when it left the factory, which is a different thing.
