Vin code on the frame
Jerry,
Should be in the same place as A body cars. You won't find the entire VIN though. You will find the VIN DERIVATIVE. That means you'll see something like this 32M123456 same as on the engine stamping pad. VIN stamping on the frame wasn't the same as the process used by today's manufacturers that require hidden VIN stampings or stickers in various places of the car. Is this something that you're just curious about or your local DMV needs? The 72 cars should be exempt from what I understand. Here's a link to a thread on the site that shows where to look. The only bad part is you'd have to lift the body off the frame to verify this. Hope this helps.

VIN Number Stamped on Frame
I have a friend who says he used a good light and an angled dental mirror to read the frame numbers. He said it wasn't easy but it can be done. He was in law enforcement and work in the vehicle theft.
My experience is the frame on our older cars usually has to much surface rust for us to be able to read the frame vin number.

In Sweden we have to inspect the car every two years, and now they have gotten for themselves to show off a frame numbers on cars from 1969,
and one can find no number so you are forced to do a regestrerings inspection. Has apparently been law in this long but no one checked before. So I hope for a good surveyor there are a lot of grumpy old men. Thanks for the pictures, I'm going to crawl under the car and scrape and hope I find a number.
Thanks Jerry

Once again, be aware that the number stamped on the frame (and on the block and the trans) is not a full VIN. It is a VIN derivative. The 13-character VIN only appears in on place on these cars, on the VIN tag. The VIN derivatives are nine characters and only match the first character of the VIN and the last eight characters. If you are asking this question because some DMV official needs to see two VINs, they don't exist on a car this old.
