Question venting the gas tank

Anyone know anything about venting the gas tank on a 1967 442. The car when we broke it down for resto had 2 lines coming off the tank and one had a hose with a old spark plug shoved in it. Anyone know the correct way to vent it and parts needed to do that job.
Thank you , Bob

There are a couple of kits that work, basically 2 rubber lines and a plastic filter stufffed with cotton. It clamps in behind the bumper above the license plate.

Just scroll down until you see it:

That will work well, but I believe the factory setup was a little different in 1967. What I've seen is a chuck of cotton like filter stuffed into the end of the large hose and a plastic plug with a small hole in the center pushed into the small hose.

I wasn't able to get the link to open, but I believe what Oldcutlass is describing was used in 1968-72 and would probably work better than the factory 1967 parts.

I looped my 2 lines together and don't run a vent. I get a minor pressure build not enough to affect anything on a really warm day.
