Value of good 70 Cutlass S 2 dr post body

Just curious of the value of a very rust free 70 post coupe Cutlass (350 , automatic AC car) with title. its apart and has doors rearend is out but there (open 2.78 I assume) I had bought core support a front fender and front bumber but he had nice rear bumper , hood and two 71-72 DS and PS front fenders, says he has motor and tranny might be original. Its is gutted apart with glass out , deck lid is off but there. The back window area with glass out looked perfect adn trunk was perfect as was floor pan I recall plus really straight.

Nice clone W31 or a drag car or was my thought

I am guessing $3,000 to $5,000. You need to figure what additional cost to restore, driver, or race car level you want it to be.

GERMAN69 I have been following the market on cars for sale and for parts availability. These years 68-72 are getting more unavailable in this condition, as are the parts. I am selling more items than I did 10 years ago that I could not give away!

Three to $5,000 seems fair. The bad part is finding the guy who wants to put one back together. I have done two and if i had a job would it again. But i don't so no cash.

If I can , I would be tempted to get it and store for later . It is sweet. Wish I could have had it before some dumb asses stripped it. Had to have been cherry survivor

I have a 70 F-85 post that runs and drives rebuilt 350/350 manual disc brake non-a/c car. Much better candidate for W-31 or W-30 clone. Only rust was in front pass floorboard because of leaky windshield and small spots in bottom of front fenders, all has been repaired. No rust in rest of car, was a painted top car so no vinyl. I have thought about cloning but already have 2 70 W-31's and a 70 442 post 4 speed to make a W-30 tribute. These cars are getting hard to find in good solid condition so if you can get a good deal, buy it!

Depends on your definition of "good". I'll give you one data point. I just paid $4500 for a completely (and I do mean COMPLETELY - even the front and back pinchweld areas) rust free 1969 Cutlass rolling shell from AZ. It was easily worth that much to me vs. the rust repair I was looking at.

Replacement panels and labor would run darn close to that on my car but $1500 was cheap as these cars get. Sucks that some retard pulled it all apart, would be worth less to me. There still are some deals out there, at least around here anyways.

I will start a new thread when I can make time to try to get over there with pics and seal the deal. Headed out of town this Friday or it would be this weekend. I did remember one thing that kind of sucks as I also thought this would have been a nice car for W31 tribute is it is an A/C car unlike mine.

It'd be really cool if you wouldn't make a fraudulent car, just saying.

He is supposed to have the title and I would very much entertain just painting it Sebring yellow with no decals and keeping legit tagged and titled as is and use my parts on it for my own enjoyment while storing my other body. I fI resold for best price I could get it would also finance repairs on the other one or paint my wagon possibly.

Sounds cool. I didn't mean to be a *****, but, there's a lot of well meaning dudes that make tributes, and are honest, then, three owners down the line, the car is now being passed off as the real deal.

Oh no offense I understand and agree completely. I had always been against taking the easy way out and swap tags but can't pass this deal either. if he can't find the title though that is going to complicate matters

Good luck!

Post pictures of the car in it's current state and getting loaded up. I like seeing these cars as they are found.
