Value comparison on different trim levels

Alright guys I want to start a discussion comparing identical cars in different trim levels to help determine values of that particular trim level. As a base will be a restorable 1970 numbers matching cutlass holiday coupe auto trans console car valued at $5000. What would that exact same car be worth as a 442...a 442 W-30...a convertible Cutlass...etc. Here is a list to work off of.

1. 1970 Cutlass Auto - $5000
2. 1970 Cutlass Manual -
3. 1970 F85/Cutlass W-31 Auto -
4. 1970 F85/Cutlass W-31 Manual -
5. 1970 442 Auto -
6. 1970 442 Manual -
7. 1970 442 W-30 Auto -
8. 1970 442 W-30 Manual -
9. 1970 Cutlass convertible -
10. 1970 442 convertible -
11. 1970 442 W-30 convertible -

Feel free to add to the list.

1970 supreme hardtop

Value is so hard to determine! color and missing parts vary. You can ballpark it on comps.

Pat brought up a good point about paint to my thinking.
My 70 442 project has a few factory goodies such as tilt, a/m fm stereo with 8-track,
bucket and console and factory W-25 package as confirmed by the build sheet, but
those parts are missing in action at the moment. I hate the dark green w/black vinyl
top and the dark green interior. I am going to go twilight blue with a white top
and black interior eventually. I wasn't sure if that would hurt the value or not by
changing it. Thoughts?

If I see the question correctly it's the exact same car, options parts etc, just different trim levels.

I would rate the supreme about the same as the cutlass and same as a vert 5000

Above w Manual transmission add 1000

W31 auto. 7000
W31 std. 8000

442 auto. 8000
442 std. 9000
442 vert. 10000

W30 auto 12000
W30 std. 13000
W30 vert. 15000

In short 442 about doubles the price w30 about triples the price

Were kinda hijacking the original thoughts, somewhat! But I am not a big fan of changing the O.E. but green is at the very bottom of my choices on d.d. or collectors vehicle.

That combo that Ron (droptopron) just bought, it looks like a nice combo! I would go with that! I think also that combo would open up more buyers and potential for more money?

So you think a convertible Cutlass is the same value as a hardtop Cutlass, but a convertible 442 is more valuable than a hardtop 442?

Sorry ken but I don't think they're the same value, personally I like the vert less, but to be fair I rated them the same at the base level and more at the upper end only because that's the market trend. I know the saying when the top goes down the price goes up, and that's especially true for repairs the verts always need more work to bring back. Plus the vert has a smaller market appeal, so in short my evaluation stands

I think that is geography dependent. Here in the Valley of the Sun convertibles of all kinds are very popular as they can be driven with the top down 12 months out of the year (assuming the driver can tolerate the summer heat), but I would imagine in the frozen tundra of the North they aren't as popular.

Incidentally, a 5k restorable 70 cutlass must be in good shape to be worth 5k in my opinion, but here are my thoughts.

1. 1970 Cutlass Auto - $5000
2. 1970 Cutlass Manual - $6000
3. 1970 F85/Cutlass W-31 Auto - $11,000
4. 1970 F85/Cutlass W-31 Manual - $13,000
5. 1970 442 Auto - $8000
6. 1970 442 Manual - $9000
7. 1970 442 W-30 Auto -$18,000
8. 1970 442 W-30 Manual -$20,000
9. 1970 Cutlass convertible auto-$6000
9B. 1970 Cutlass convertible manual-$7000
10. 1970 442 convertible auto -$10,000
10B. 1970 442 convertible manual $11,000
11. 1970 442 W-30 convertible auto-$22,000
12. 1970 442 W-30 convertible manual-$25,000
