Vacuum reservoir

Is the vacuum cannister located on the left inner fender well on my 62 Starfire necessary any more since I am installing front disc brakes with power booster?

If you are using a more " modern " power booster , you probably won't need the vacuum tank .
But , it wouldn't hurt to keep it either . It gives you an extra "power" application , after losing vacuum .

If the car has AC or power trunk you need to keep it. On AC cars it helps move the various doors to control air flow. If you have power trunk it supplies enough vacuum to pop the trunk at least one more time when you shut the car off.

The reservoir is in such a tight place I think I'll go ahead and install it. I'm using a Vintage air Gen II ac but I plan on retaining the fresh air vent doors and I'll need the extra vacuum for them. By the way, I put a vacuum pump on the old diaphrams and they still work!
