Unusual Factory Paperwork
Hi All
Remember the "time capsule" engine I picked up a while back?
https://classicoldsmobile.com/forums...le-engine.html
Well I sold the long block to a new member on this site from Washington state and he's going to put it into a 1949 Oldsmobile. He doesn't have the system down yet to post pictures here so he sent me something interesting he found while dismantling the engine. Here's a closeup and one other that shows the location he found it in. Has anyone come across something like this before? Anybody know the details on this?

A long shot guess is that it's an engine ID tape so the assembly line knows which engine to put in the car. Kinda like the oil filler ID tapes on later engines, that are always MIA...
There WERE a couple guys I could have asked about this, but they're gone now.
