I have faith in you getting a trophy this year Sandy , always nice to have your hard work rewarded ( does this mean Allan gets half?). None of those trophies are from the Olds , they were from the 29 model A that I traded to get the Olds. there are many more you can't see plus the ones too tall for the shelf.

that is a LOT of trophies! I plan on putting mine in the trunk so they stay with the car (if any of them ever leave)

Hey Toyoholic,

How did you put a His and her's shifter in a 69? I thought I was the only nut doing that? Did you use a 70 consol or a H/O consol?

Not much to tell other than the previous owner must have put them on. They are stickers/decals and I will leave them until the car is repainted.

I'm using the 70 console. Actually still working on the install. Just got the trans bracket for it. Ready to drop it in.

Is that a real repro battery or a battery cover? Looks incredible. Also one question. My car came with top post cables too, but I see a lot of the 72 repros are being sold as side terminals. Was that even available in 72?

Is your overflow tank OEM or repro. I've been toying with getting one of those. Almost bought and OEM one recently but it was for B/C car not A body.

72 was the first year of side terminal batteries. I believe they only make repo battery covers for the R59 -350 battery size. I contacted the company for a cover for the large 455 battery R71, however it wasn't made as at that time and there were no plans to do so.

Hi Allan,
The r-59 is just the battery topper, and thanks it really does "make" the engine compartment detail. I get alot of comments on that cover. The cool thing, even when people are standing right above it looking at it,they have to ask the same question,"is it a real battery or a cover?
As Rocketbrian mentioned,1972 was the first year for side terminal batteries.
The overflow tank is a reproduction. On the reproduction the lettering for the add and full marks are not as bold as OEM...I don't think anyone has ever noticed except me.

Here's one I took during the build up. I kind of wish I had painted it 400 Bronze vs. 455 blue. I am sure I could have fooled a few by doing that.

Wow some nice work here, cool thread, somehow had missed it earlier.
All I have is a before (current) of the Omega.
The Cutlass is much worse.
And a progress pic of the 455. Love blue, gold, red. Decided to go with a non Olds color. I like it so far.
