OK, I didn't want to dazzle everybody before now

I was holding off on showing the under-hood view of MY car because I didn't want to upstage anyone else. But now that we've seen a great many underhood shots, I thought I could go ahead and present mine.

You gotta admit, pretty good, huh?

Now that's funny!!!

Jamesbo... I see that stripe decal on the radiator cap in the first pic. It goes off the cap on to the radiator too? Or is that just how it looks in the picture?? You have a whole different engine than mine... you sure I'm supposed to have that??

Very nice underhood shots to all who have posted. Some very nice work shows.

I dig all the pics so I'll contribute, the pics help me to notice details I am missing on mine

Mine looks decent as long as you can't see the firewall and everything on it. I took a couple deceptive pics sorta trying to hide the firewall then a pic showing the firewall. When I pull the 350 in trade for a 455,the firewall will be detailed. Until then I'll just live with the embarrassment

DSC02439.jpg

DSC02442.jpg

see what I mean about my ugly firewall

W30 it looks pretty good to me! Try shooting the firewall with a light coat of WD-40

I like this can cause it shoots or sprays into hard to get areas, very controllable

For those who don't know, TK-65 is RAMZ and site admin on www.ultra-high-compression.com, which is a "specialty site" for 1st gen (64/65) Cutlass/442s. The site describes the entire resto & also has links to the forum & also to 442BR[], another very knowledgeable '64/65 freak. There are also a few other "resident experts" in the forum.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

W-30.... Your firewall doesn't look ugly. It just looks old, like mine! They are old! I know what you mean, though. I'm gonna try to clean mine up some too. WD 40 does work wonders on things!! I use it alot, LOL!!

.......I don't have anything but 69's,Zo I ain't got a clue what your spose to have.

Jamesbo..... What a shi* you are, LOL!! You tell me to buy all these stickers, then you're clueless!! And I ain't a gonna replace the radiator flappy things!! They don't look that bad! A little Mothers Back to Black makes them look better.

BigJerr.... You give me inspiration, lol!! I'm gonna have to put the rocket emblems I have under my hood somewhere, correct or not!!! I love that one of yours!!

This is a great post! Gotta love the 'under hood' shots!
Jamesbo & Jaunty75... you're both too funny!!

I vaguely remember some pics in another thread that Bigjerr took with the hood closed & hood open then blended them in photoshop or something and it looked really cool
Wish I had something to take a picture of worth posting

Calm down Sandy, Dont get your underwear in a bundle. I just don't want to give you anymore BAD advice. On a 69 the tire pressure sticker is on the door jamb on yours it's in the glove box. And your car doesn't use Spring Ring battery cables like a 69. I just don't want to tell ya wrong AGAIN

Here's a pic of my 425 going back into my 67 Delta 88, Friday, April 30, 2010. I had to leave for work minutes after this pic was taken.
It sure was hard not to call in sick. I wanted to be there, to do what I could to help. I can't wait to hear it fire up again.
No detailing yet. The car is going to the body shop next door to be painted. Detailing to follow paint.
BTW... I have the correct fuel line that runs from the fuel pump to the carb, but I wanted to run an in-line fuel filter.
I also enjoy (just a little) bling!

Bling-bling (or simply bling) is a slang term popularized in hip hop culture, referring to flashy or elaborate jewelry and ornamented accessories that are carried, worn or installed, such as cell phones or tooth caps. The concept is often associated with rappers.

In linguistics terms, bling is an ideophone intended to evoke the "sound" of light hitting silver, platinum, or diamonds. It is not onomatopoeia, because the act of jewelry shining does not make a sound. The form bling-bling is a case of reduplication.

Bling may include earrings.

Companies such as Sprint and Cadillac have used the word bling in their advertisements. During a 2008 Martin Luther King, Jr. Day parade in Jacksonville, Florida, Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney admired a baby decked in dress attire with gold jewelry and said, "Oh, you've got some bling-bling here." In 2004, MTV released a satirical cartoon showing the term being used first by a rapper and then by several progressively less "streetwise" characters, concluding with a middle-aged white woman describing her earrings to her elderly mother. It ended with the statement, "RIP bling-bling 1997-2003." In 2005, the rapper B.G. remarked that he "just wished that he'd trademarked it"[5] so that he could have profited from its use.
Like many cases of once-exclusive vernacular that becomes mainstream, the views of the originators towards the term have changed significantly over the years. On VH1's Why You Love Hip-Hop, rapper Fat Joe stated, "rappers don't call jewelry 'bling' anymore, we just call 'em "diamonds"."

Since I posted last in this thread,my master cylinder went out.Figured it would be a good time to clean, paint everything on my firewall with the exception of a new booster and master.
Here's what I ended up with.
thanks for looking

haha I guess you're right. It's not an "under-hood" shot without a hood is it? Well, now that the hood is on, what you see is NOW under-hood

PS...your motors are all VERY nice. My other 98 has a pretty clean motor as well. I put a pair of '73 valve covers on that car. I know they're not correct but I love that they say OLDSMOBILE. Why would they stop stuff like that?
