Turn Signal Linkage

The turn signal linkage in my 1956 Olds 88 is broken. Does anyone know if they make a replacement rod complete with the spring and pin? This is the rod that runs from the turn signal collar down through the column and connects to the turn signal switch. I dont have any blinkers until this is fixed. If anyone knows of a salvage yard that would sell this piece rather than the whole column or maybe someone who makes them in their spare time or possibly someone might have an extra one I could purchase from a parts car I would greatly appreciate it.

In have made a ignition push rod, took a while but with a pattern , Who knows Yard sale signs use a steel rod that can be bent or an old political sign, (do get caught taking a pol sign)

turn signal rod

Ihave gone to Loews and bought a metal rod and bent and cut it to fit but the rod also has a hole in it to hold the pin. I have used the smallest drill bit to drill a whole in it but the hole I drilled keeps breaking. And I also dont have the pin or the spring. Do you know if I can use one from a tri-chev or pontiac, buick?
