Tubular/Barrel Nuts

Im having a hard time finding details on the size of the tubular nuts that secure the OLDSMOBILE letters to the trunk of a 1972 Cutlass Supreme.

I absolutely know that 1/8 stud 1/4 hole tubular nuts are too big. Anyone know the correct size?

Your right about the fingerprints . I have checked all the normal sites - I cant find anyone that actually lists the sizes for the nuts - I can buy the letters with the nuts included, but I already have a good set of letters. There are a couple of sites that have multiple sizes for these nuts listed, but none that say they fit these letters.

Im not going to lie - I could have missed it on one of these sites - I get frustrated quickly and easily in my old age.

The description on NAPA’s site says they are nylon. Is that what yours are?

Mine are metal, not nylon. Maybe they changed the construction of them....who knows.

I've been watching these forever but haven't pulled the trigger yet. I think this size is right? Do they actually make a size smaller for the hole? Perhaps paint/filler have 'shrunk' the hole?
