Trunk Divider/Insulation

What side if the Trunk divider does the insulation attach? The trunk side or the backseat side?

Welcome to the site.

What car, model, year is this for?

I have only seen it installed on the cabin side of 70-72 models. There are special metal tabs on the cabin divider the material hangs from. If you're installing something like FATMAT you can do whatever you want.

The factory hung the cabin insulation on these 3 hooks.

Maybe I misunderstood the question.

I hung my insulation on these hooks first, then I hung the backing/divider piece (the cardboard piece) over this.

The w31 was tripped down quite a bit. If you want to add some sound insulation the best place to put it is on the cabin side.
