After seeing this article, I would spend a little extra for a quality shipper.

Johnny, I've rented a car trailer from a rental shop (everything from yard equipment to trucks and trailers, there should be a place around you) and borrowed a friend's truck (F250) to tow the vehicle back home. I did this twice both times PA to MA without an issue. Your problem might be the amount of parts you are bring back with you so this might not work unless everything can fit.

x2. Thats what I did when I bought my car. I rented a car transporter and I had a cargo van with a hitch. The car was taken apart and came with an extra motor and tranny so it would have been expensive to ship. Nice little road trip from Oakland to Vegas. Came back with a 99% rust free car and a van load of parts.
