Tri carb completed on 66 442

Thanks to Mike Richards for parts etc ( bell crank, fuel bowl bracket, bracket clamp) the tri carb unit is now on my 66 442, running smooth and that famous sound when outboard carbs are opened up. I still have to install the correct power steering pump, brackets and pulleys..Do some detailing etc. no power brakes factory, factory 4 speed and console etc, factory 3:55 posi.. this car was the perfect factory set up to transition from 4v to trI carb.. Obviously not original tri carb..only thing I could not find is the original bell crank to center carb throttle rod..however the original 4v throttle rod works perfectly, not sure why they made a different one for the tri carb..Anybody know why?

Nice job on the conversion! I just finished rebuilding my tri carb. I’m having trouble getting full throttle. Did you replace the 4 barrel bell crank on the firewall? I’m wondering if the tri carb is the same as the 4 barrel bell crank.

Looks real nice. I just finished rebuild and carb restoration also but I can’t get full throttle even if bury my foot.
Does it appear I did something wrong? I adjusted the linkage rod as short as I could, no help.

The way to check travel on the throttle rod is,disconnect it from the carb, put the pedal on the floor, open the center carb up all the way and see where the throttle rod hits the ball. Sometimes the carpet will keep the pedal travel short.

Thanks Mike, I tried to call you earlier. Does the tri carb use the same firewall bell crank as 4 barrel?

No it doesn't. The tri carb bellcrank is longer/taller to allow for the correct throttle travel. I do have one.
