Torque Specs Master List

I will be doing some under-the-hood detailing on my '72 Ninety Eight. I will be taking the alternator and A/C brackets off and clean them as well as cleaning the front of the engine block. I am also going to take off the valve covers to strip and paint…then change gaskets.

My question is: Is there a master list of all the torque specifications? The Service Manual has the torque specs for valve cover bolts but not the bracket bolts. It would be nice if there was some kind of master list of torque specifications.

Thanks for any feedback…now, go enjoy cruising in your Merry Oldsmobile!

For brackets to engine, I don't think in practice anyone outside the factory uses a torque instrument. They use the calibrated arm and as long as it's tight enough and doesn't fall off or break the bolt, it's perfect.

In practice, I don't think much beyond the crank/rods, heads, cam bolt, and MAYBE the intake actually get secured with a torque instrument.

The Chassis Service Manual has the torque values for the items that they considered to require such info.

+1. Just make 'em tight.

You've been working on Toyotas too long.
