Post toro intake/carb issue

I have a toro intake that was used from "73-"76 cast number 412493. The poblem is with my q-jet throttle linkage interference with one of the runners of the intake. Kept raising carb up until it would clear, took an inch spacer to make it function with no clearance issue..Did the toro's use a toro specific carb ?

The carbs themselves are externally identical to all QuadraJets. The Toro used different throttle and choke linkage arms.

A Dremel tool is your friend here. I put a replacement new stock 69 W30 carb on my 69 Toro and ran into the same issue. Didn't really want to start hacking on my new carb, but I wanted a good, functioning carb worse so I modified the throttle arm to work with the Toronado intake. You shouldn't have to remove much.

I had had it with trying to make those old wornout Q-Jets work- I had taken three Toro carbs to make one, and still didn't have a good carb.
