I run between 34-36 psi. Anything higher the ride is too bouncy or stiff. Too low and it kind of floats a bit.

I bought repo SSI rims through Summit. I ordered 15 X 7's with 245/60/15 BF Goodrich tires. They will mount and balance the tires. When they arrive at your house all you have to do is inflate and install. I have had mine a couple of years and am pleased with them. They do not come with center caps. I installed some GM center caps that I already had.

I run at 35psi for cars I drive. If being stored for a long time I use 40.
Used wheels is my suggestion - still plenty out there.

Depends on whether you're going to run radials or bias plys. Radial - 32 is lots especially for a wide 225+ width. Bias - in your glove box and owners manual.

Shouldn't have much trouble finding rims for your car - there are plenty on the market. Just depends on whether you want to go with new repro or OEM used

Next!

Hi Rob-AL Graff here-totally off the subject but didn't you install electric fan on you car? Curious what kind and if you keep the old fan on as well. Also in your vast knowledge storage is is possible for the original wheels to become out of round or sorts. Have a small vibration in the *** and eveything else has checked out. Wheels are original and was going to get replacements at JEGS or SUMMIT. What's your advice?
Thank you
AL

Ok, I know I'm not Rob but I thought I'd share this with you. Are you so sure it's your wheels?? You can check them easy enough for out of round and in/out. Reason I question the wheels as the problem goes back to this summer with my Sonata.

I have winter and summer wheels for the car. When I took off the winter ones and put on the summers I noticed the front of the car was vibrating and shaking at certain highway speeds. Took it in for a wheel balance. The shop balanced them and put the fronts on the back and vice versa. Now on the highway the vibration was coming from the back. In I went for another balance. Then another one. Still the same - it was driving me literally nuts!

Went to a Falken dealer and explained the problem. They took the wheels off and spun them on their machine. The TIRE, not the wheel had in / out play. Guess where? On the join. Turns out the tires were defective and starting to separate.

Suggestion: What about those roller wheels you had on the car? Can you put them on and see if the vibration is still there? That would certainly isolate whether the problem was body/driveline or wheels if the vibration is gone. I bet ya a mint julep it's the tires, not the wheels.

Now I return you to the 'Dark Lord'.....

Sounds belieable. The tires are new sold by goodyear but made in Korea.
I'm going to see Elliot tomorrow and confront him on that.

They could become bent if you slide up against a curb or so, or maybe a broke weld or such. As for out of round like an egg shape, no.
Tires can cause all sorts of strange problems.
In the past 7 years, i have experienced more bad quality in tires than I have seen in my entire life.
My Ford tires are no-names and have turned funky shapes withing a couple years. Two developed bulges on the sidewalls just after installation, which i made them replace for free.
Caddy has michilin crap in which all the sidewalls crackled in 2 years. After 5 years the rubbers is so dry rotted that they are flaking!
My neighbors Escort has Falkens which were made in japan and they are so cracked that i would not drive across the street with it! They are 5 years old, too.
Tire quality has gone down the crapper big time.

Jap made ones seem to be even worse with 3/16" deep cracks in the sidewalls.

Prolly from all the high speed cornering you do on them narrow windy roads?? Funny, my Sonata has 215/55/17s but the recommended pressure for my car is on 30psi front/rear. The max pressure is considerably more. I'm sure the pressure used is a combination of a) ride comfort b) tire profile c) car weight. Your Rallye 350 would never have come with 245's so experimenting with tire pressures is almost a given for each application?
