Classic Car Radial Tire Pressure?

There is a sticker on my 69 Cutlass that says to set the tire pressure to 25 PSI. That seems a lot lower that other vehicles that I have. I am running 215 R7014 radial tires on the car. Does this pressure rating apply to these modern tires (max 44 psi) or was that rating for bias ply tires probably run on the car 40 years ago?

That rating on the tire is the maximum pressure that the tire is rated for.
I just inflate my tires to the 32 to 35 psi range which is what the majority of the vehicle mfg's list for tires on cars.

The 25 psi recommendation is for a bias ply tire. Generally accepted tire pressure is 32 psi. Being roughly a 3600 lb car you should be fine about there. If you notice irregular wear IE center section of the tread block is wearing faster, reduce pressure, conversely if the shoulders are wearing faster increase.(This is assuming correct alignment) 32 to 35 is a good ballpark though as gearhead1218 previously noted.

Thanks, 32 psi makes more sense to me than 25.
