Obviously, "good buy" will depend on the price. So, without giving the asking price there is no way to tell if it is a good buy. Also, what does the underside of the car look like as far as rust?

Same point from me. Good deal? You didn't tell us the good deal price?? Obviously a non factory color repaint. Non air and power brakes is a good start for me. Canadian car in South Dakota. Hard to tell. Is that a floor shift automatic or? Details details.

Interior is definitely rough. How's the drivetrain apart from "there"? How does it drive...need suspension work? Matching rims? That all factors into "good deal" or not. It looks like it could be a good car, but 10k does sound high to me.

Definitely need to see how much rust is underneath that beast. I suspect maybe a large quantity of Bondo also. What are your intentions for the vehicle? If it's got minimal rust and filler and you want to go racing it might be a good candidate but if you need to put $25K of work into it to get it to "nice driver" status you might want to pass.

Too small. I think you should look at a 98 or Delta 88.

Ouch. I agree with Koda. Ten Grand? I would say more like four grand. Go fishing with your ten grand. You will find so many cars. No way that car is worth ten Grand. Five grand is a stretch.

It's a $3-4k car at best. Matching numbers on a Cutlass means almost nothing in value.

3-4K??? The pair of front fenders are worth that if they aren't rusted.
Also it's a Canadian built car so has a 12 bolt Chevy rear.

If it runs, drives and the body is solid I'd say the asking price is fair but you can always offer lower.

I bought a beautiful '69 Cutlass S out of Colorado about 3 years ago for waaay less than this pig. Mine has original paint and metal, pristine original interior with bench and factory 4-speed. You'd have a hard time convincing me to part with $4k for this thing.

Have you looked at the prices of cars lately? You can't buy squat for 4k anymore. At least not cars like A bodies.

I think you need to ask yourself if you're ok with the paint as is?
If not, car you able to repaint it yourself? If not, then add another 5k to the price to have it painted.
In this case, look for something else.

Also agree with really looking at the underside! Also at how much bondo is in it? Motor and trans.
It's a flippers paradise right now.

I get that. I have always been a Colorado person. I don't like all the AC stuff cramming up the engine compartment. It's a muscle car. Born to run. Don't need heavy extras.

I don't know how you people deal with the heat. No thank you. One of my best friends lives near Houston. He talks crap to me about the snow. I talk crap to him about the heat and hurricanes. I win. Heat and humidity? No thank you.

I'm not saying it's worth 10k, but 4k? Come one, that world doesn't exist anymore.

I will never overpay. When you look at everything that that car needs. You are better off spending more money on a nicer car.

This car was built in Canada and looks to have been sold new in Michigan. Is there any chance on this planet, or any other, that car isn't FULL of body filler? It's wearing a Maaco paint job with dash parts missing. I'm not trying to be negative but let's be realistic. Yes, I know what asking prices are right now but these ain't selling prices. It's worth whatever somebody is willing to pay for it. To me, it's worth <$4k.

Amen. Asking price and true price are so different. The way that Oldsmobile's have gone Mopar pricing is crazy to me. People pay stupid money for a non numbers car etc. That's one thing that chaps my ***. The defenders of "Oh it doesn't matter" people blow me away. Ask the people with real cars. Fools paying mad cash for fake junk. I will take an old beat down original car ALL day over fake crap.
