throttle ques

throttle ques

When im under 20 miles an hour and gun the pedal i feel like the car doesn't want to go it starts to putt putt but when i step on the pedal normal everything works fine. Got a 455 motor with a quadrajet 4 barrel 7042251 just rebuilt with the oia hood

Accel. pump not working / misadjusted? Vacuum leak somewhere? Sounds like it is starving for fuel...

it's a major air/fuel mixture problem. open vacuum port, loose carb mounting, accelerator pump inoperable, transfer slots clogged, vac secondaries opening too soon. the list goes on and on

The other thing was an HEI distrub was installed,it had an vacuum line coming out of the vacuum advance on the HEI going directly to the intake,my mechanic took it out and put it to the carb ,said something that it was to advance all the time thats why he did that,does this make sense.The motor was built from the block up everything new no used parts it was built by the old owner mechanic a top texas motor man.
