Thinking of buying this 67 convertible

Im considering buying this 67 convertible. Just needed some opinions on the asking price and condition of the car. Comes with complete interior kit and brand new top all in the box. no motor no trans or hood. He's asking $3000.

Help!

The price may be right, but the metal will require a lot of work since he let sit unprotected and rust. Unless you are body and paint master, I would pass. I bought my 67 convertible running with a solid body for 8k. Deals are out there.

Wow, not a 3 G car in my book. Check the condition of the frame. If its good offer 1000 and if he doesnt take it walk...I doubt anyone else would offer more.

IMO $1000-1500 maybe 2k tops for a roller and thats if the frame, floors and all inner structures are in tact, sound and desert dry....
Check the dash & cowl area under the windshield and above the wipers remove the wiper grill and look under it . Check where the cowl mounts to the frame. Check the trunk & rear wheel tubs & trunk extensions, up where the vert top stows, vert top supports, radiator core support, all metal seams on doors trunk lid etc...
Only way I'd pay even close to $3000 for this car is if it was a sun baked desert dry car with surface rust, surface rust I could break off with minimal DA sanding. That body will take a great deal of metal prep just to get it ready for primer if its as bad as it appears.
Here is what the owner is most likely thinking....500-1000 for the shell and he probably has 1500ish in new parts. So if its desert dry then 2-3K isn't highway robbery. 1500 would be a good deal for you.

If a picture is worth 1.000 words, well, those aren't. Not much to go on. Is there a trailer full of missing parts that go with it? Even if that answer is yes $3K sounds like a stretch IMO.
