"THEY" are still out there!

I had to get the state inspection done on my '82 GMC recently and headed to the small shop that's close by that I've been going to for the last 10 years. I've gotten to know the owner and his wife (office manager) fairly well over the years and he's a car guy too, owning a 60's GTO that he won't part with. While shooting the $&!* with him, I let him know of that I recently purchased a '69 442. He let me know that he recently had an older gentlemen call asking if he could adjust headlights. He said "sure, bring it in". So the guy shows up with a '67 442....looks like a nice car, 4 speed. The mechanic sets about adjusting the headlights in his shop and begins to notice "This is a really nice car", and starts looking at it harder. Turns out that it's unrestored, very low mileage car. The owner bought it new when he returned from Viet Nam. I cussed him out for not taking any photos. I'm sure the mechanic knows how to contact the owner but he's not giving that info up. All I can say is....these cars are still out there. I keep my head on a swivel in every small town I drive through. I'm sure you guys do to.

Any similar stories???

I was invited over to a fellows house to see his collection of Muscle cars. He collected them throughout the 1970's and 80's.

I don't know. The cars were packed into a basement garage and extremely difficult to walk around.
