Tapered Q-Jet Carburetor Spacer

Anyone have actual experience using a Wilson tapered carburetor spacer on a Quadrajet? General claimed increase of up to 110 CFM and up to 30 HP. Saw on Engine Masters. Lot of increased HP for a simple bolt-on mod - if true.

As long as you have the height, why not?

I am considering this as well, I haven't looked at the $200 Wilson spacer. I have notched the divider in my RPM intake already. I have a 1" 4 hole Mr Gasket and a 1" aluminum Transdapt that I matched better to the intake opening for the Qjet. I also have thr nearly 1/2" thick open Thermoquad factory gasket as an option. There should be room under my S hood for the 1" spacer. I have used it without issues on the small plenum and runner Performer, which should have seen gains. I will run this by Mark, see what he says. Unless you have track times before and after, or a dyno to test, it is all conjecture. I haven't heard of any amount of power lost but there are some that gain very little, all magazine tests. Go for it, I may as well.

I have a hamburger 1” tapered spacer for qjet. Not the best comparison but I went from a holley 600 with no spacer on a hsd intake to a qjet with the tapered spacer on the same intake and it was a noticeable improvement.
