Sorry but that's really a weak article. The original article published in the May 1971 issue of Hot Rod was far more detailed and informative, and was based on interviews with the engineers who actually worked on the project, not an internet search done half a century after the fact.
I wonder if they laser scanned it. Whittling a billet version on a Haas would be bada$$, but cost a small fortune.
They would need an original or a molded plastic model to laser scan. Chances are it was some 3D computer drafting program that was loaded on a 3 axis CNC machine with 5 axis capability. Finding a billet large enough could be another project.
That block would cost more than a few sets of Peyton Hunt heads.
