Pretty cool they got it running and it makes the power Oldsmobile said it made, go figure. The great what if is now a one off reality!

For an existing 455? Sadly, that is not possible because even the block is different. Then you also have the same cam issues to deal with that were never refined out.

I wonder if they laser scanned it. Whittling a billet version on a Haas would be bada$$, but cost a small fortune.

They would need an original or a molded plastic model to laser scan. Chances are it was some 3D computer drafting program that was loaded on a 3 axis CNC machine with 5 axis capability. Finding a billet large enough could be another project.
That block would cost more than a few sets of Peyton Hunt heads.

Inline had a new head cast. My understanding is it took several tries to get a useable head.
