300,000 miles on that car? Sorry, something doesn't smell right.

Did they change the odometer between 1971 & 1972? My 1971 odometer does not roll into the hundred thousand mile range. Does the 1972 odometer roll into the hundred thousand mile range or does the odometer demonstrate 29059.1 instead of 290591?

No, the odo only goes to 99,999.9.
The ad claims "Rebuilt transmission installed at about 170,000 miles". I really doubt that was 17,000.0 miles.
I ***-U-ME the seller knows if the odo has rolled once or twice.

Agree, I suspect (maybe, who knows) it may have been @ 117,000? You'd think the owner would know if it had rolled, but you never know the mental capacity of a person/owner or who wrote the ad (maybe a grandchild with no/limited knowledge).

Dave, I believe it's in the best interests of the CO members you should try to setup an appointment.

If it is not a scam I don't think the mileage matters at the $3,500 selling price.

He's the original owner and I've reached out to him. It's a 350 car. I also inquired about the rust on the quarters but he has yet to respond. As I said, I was tempted. My initial thought was to make it a daily, but then realized that it wouldn't be a practical choice.

If that is real 3500 seems like a good deal. Is that a power antenna hole on the passenger quarter?

I wondered that myself, and if you look closely, there's one on both sides.

Trust me, I really wanted to scoop it up, but as I said, it wouldn't have been the most practical decision as a daily driver...(and don't forget, I already have a U code '72 Supreme)

How would it not be practical for a DD? Low insurance and low registration costs would greatly override mileage costs. I did this for many years back in the 90s when my 12 MPG car that had $20 monthly insurance and no finance charges was more economical than my co-worker's 30 MPG car with its $330 monthly note + insurance costs. It opened his eyes when we compared overall costs.

BTR aluminum head & intake 455...5 or 6 speed Currie rear end, widened steel wheels, dog dishes or SS Cragers..sleeper for under 20K when finished. I want it! Why am I always 10th in line! A clean Supreme body style with no vinyl roof is what I want for this. Oh well.

I hear ya but I have no car payment, and I only pay 108.00 a month for insurance on 3 vehicles.
