I was reading a article from Hagerty, talking about battery chargers, one of there clients had a charger hooked up, and it failed, burnt the car up and half of the garage. They compensated him though.

My neighbour has a solar battery charger for his trailerhome leisure battery, trickle charges whenever the sun shines, and has a diode pack to stop it discharging when it's dark.
£10 from Maplins - roughly equivalent to Radio Shack in the UK.
