Hey guys,I bought my ''dream engine'' yesterday!A 68' block,''n'' crank, ''c'' heads.The heads are bare though.Actully this engine has been machined and all the parts are there..I cant build right now[broke again]How do i store it??I thought of rubbing bearing grease on everything.Crank,cam ,cylinders,...not sure! Please help,need to protect my investment.Thanks yall,later BO

 

With the humidity of the Southeast I'd coat it with something ASAP
I lived in Florida for a couple years and the humidity in the summer is what I remember the most!!!

I'd just use oil and check it often. I think oil would be easier to clean off than grease when the day comes to put it together. But that's my 2 cents! I'm sure you'll get some other ideas to consider.

I've strored some now ,i just put tranny fluid in cylinders,and turn engine regular.This one's apart though,and being my ''beast motor''[of the future]I want to assure it's well preserved,later,BO

 

I like to oil them down myself and Eastwood has bags that are designed for long term storage of engines and heads.... I use them..... I used to buy bags of decantant which is a product that absorbs moisture and put a bag of it in the bag and then seal it air tight..... You can get decantant from Eastwood also

Bring it in the house and put it in front of your favorite chair or couch and use it for a footrest/beer stand

 

I have one on a stand right now that I shot down with white lith grease
