Steering wheel

Another question for you olds guru's out there. I have 66 442, were there any choices for steering wheels other then the plain black plastic bla looking wheel, such as a FACTORY rally sport wheel ???? If so where might I grab one ???

There were three different steering wheels used on the 1965 F85 line. The base F85s got the base steering wheel. I don't have a photo of that. Optional on the F85 and standard on the F85 Deluxe and Cutlass models was the RPO N30 Deluxe wheel. Optional on any of the Olds A-body cars was the RPO N31 Custom Deluxe wheel with the woodgrain features. The Deluxe and Custom Deluxe are shown below.

I've also never seen the RPO N31 Super Deluxe wheel. Very, very nice. Any idea how that was made, i.e., a co-cast, or built from sections? OP was asking about '66 wheels, was the Super Deluxe a '65 only?
Here's the wheel on my '66 F-85 4-4-2.

Thanks to all that replied in on this. I was kind of hoping for like a rally sport wheel that came with the 70 442's. Oh well looks like I am stuck with the older style.

While it wouldn't be correct, you can install a four spoke wheel on your 65. Use the smaller diameter hub from the 1964-66 Impala with the two spoke wheel. This is available from the Chevy repro houses. Note that this is not the same as the hub used on the three spoke wheels.

It's worth pointing out that, not only are you are applying 21st century thought (every car from the 70s is a muscle car and thus has a ram air hood, ralley wheels, and a sport steering wheel and buckets and floor shift), but you are applying it to a mid 60s car when many of these items either did not exist at all yet, or were just barely getting started. The 64-67 model range is a different beast than the 68-72. In 68, the cars got bigger, heavier, and sleezier. Some of the sporty aesthetic stuff on the later cars just wasn't appropriate for the earlier ones because things were more uptight.

Saw this at yesterdays's Northern Ohio Chapter show. Seller said that it was for a big car.

Seller would be correct. The deeper dish gives it away.
