steering center link

I have a 72 olds 442 originally had a 350 motor in it and got changed to a 455 the problem I'm having is I went to the mechanic and he noticed that the steering center link is rubbing against the oil pan he said the motor mounts are good and they were changed when the motor was installed. It has about 3,000 miles on the motor.Any input would be great I was thinking is there a

This may be a real longshot but are the suspension pieces installed correctly? Correct parts, nothing installed upside down or anything like that?

Is this the same mechanic that said he couldn't install lower ball joints because it was to hard. If so find another mechanic.
