Stealth 67 Cutlass Yay or Nay?

I see the black out treatment more these days. Its usually trucks, but not always.
I don't think I've seen a cutlass like that either. Its cool it some ways, but its not my first choice of style.
I'd still drive it.

One of the things that bothers me most on this site is someone posting a pic of a car and then the car gets bashed the comments on this post have been respectfull. When i see someone posting a disrespectfull comment on someones car that they worked hard on I think i will ask to see a pic of their girlfriend/wife and or car...and they better be hot cause i will tell you what i think

That's gonna look really dated someday soon, if not now. I, for one, am sick of the monochrome look and the O-ring wheel and tire treatment doesn't help matters any.
Kind of a shame, because the '66-7 Cutlasses look SO cool.

I like it.
Black is my favorite car color.
Only thing it needs is dark tinted glass.
I would've removed the CS emblems on the "C" pillar
instead of painting it black.
THAT looks a little tacky to me.
Also, don't care for the "skinny" tires.
I like the rims to be a little more than 1" from the pavement.

It's fine. I think I would have matt'ed the bumpers and trim, or left the trim off, but it's tasteful as is.
Pogo, I get your point, disrespect is not good, but if a car is a legit turd, you should be able to call it that without getting ad hominemed on your own car, or wife. Of course, if your wife and car are sexy, then you got a right to judge, lol.

What if the car had painted flames..on the hood, maybe a little on the fenders?
You know old school...white hot into orange blending into red?
Reminds me of a model car I built when I was a kid.
Murdered meets cremated?
Hey, I'm just asking. It might be the next styling trend.
Ghost flames...done. Scallops...done. What's next?

You know what, I don't like it, but I don't really like any car that doesn't look mostly stock. The owner probably likes it, good for him, he ought to like it, otherwise he's probably a schizophrenic. But what good is a certain style if everyone likes it? If everyone likes it, then technically no one likes it. So have your own style, and expect that some people are going to like it, and some aren't going to like it, and get on with life. In any particular contest, there are going to be some winners and some losers. Everyone can't get a trophy.

I kinda like it but not my cup of tea so to speak.
Pogo-
I did not post the picture for a bash but for discussion. Everyone has a specific taste for their rides and I can respect each that in every case but I dont think it to be a crime to comment... even if it is negative. If anyone want to bash any of my junk they are welcome to it.

Not my cup of tea either, but I do like when people try to be different. Nothing worse that parking or pulling up to a identical car. I guess that's why I don't like concourse car shows. 15-20 cars parked next to each other, that look exactly the same. But to each is his own.

I kind of like it a bit. I did a GTO in similar fashion many moon's ago, and was black as well. Then, however, it wasn't so much to be different, it was because it's hard for a young guy to pay for all the chrome plating and stainless polishing. Often times I would think the chrome was in pretty good shape, only to realize how bad it is up against new slick paint. I still do that, lol! Some nice disc brakes would look good through openings in the wheels, though.
As I get older, I tend to find originality more appealing to me, but I think it is because I know how much more difficult it is to achieve now. If you think about it, many cars of the 60's were ordered to reflect the personal taste of the buyer. So, if you think about it, you are not restoring to factory original as much as you are restoring to someone else's personal likes from many years ago!
