stalling issue

I have 650 Holley Carb on a 455. Car runs nice, but if I tried to accelerate from a stop to quickly the car hesitates, stumbles, and then stalls. For example, I was waiting to make a left hand turn and when I put the gas peddle to the floor it stalled about halfway through the turn. Other than that it doesn't have issues at highway speeds and is pretty responsive when accelerating while already moving. Any help is appreciated.

Accelerator pump?
Use a light and check the carb for a nice squirt when the accelerator is pressed.

It could also be a timing issue.

It could almost be anything. Start with basics: float levels, accel pump adjustment, etc.
I'll throw this one out there: when I was 17, my friend's Chevelle would shut off on left turns. No battery hold down let the positive terminal short into the fender! 🤣

Actually, if OP is making left-hand turns with the accelerator floored, this one might be the most likely.

I just had this same issue. I adjusted the carb float level and that resolved this issue for me.
