Spring Carlisle!....?
Spring Carlisle!....?
I'm planing on going to Spring Carlisle(one of the largest swap meets on the east coast)is anyone else going? If not and your looking for something let me know and I can keep an eye out.
Well, maybe compared to the Chebby parts, but I always find interesting Olds parts. I think it was two years ago that I bought a pair of 455 manual trans cranks. Last year I got a super rusty 4bbl manifold with a good TVS on it. Picked up a 455 short block about two years ago also. Last fall I got a straight front bumper core for my 66. The other thing I get at Carlisle is tools. Can't beat the prices on Craftsman sockets and wrenches.
I was also thinking of going. Got to convince the old lady though. It could be a hard sell.
I might just go to the local Olds shown the same weekend (LI, NY). Have you been to the LI chapter show/swap Olds SKL 69?

Spring Carlisle? What's that?
I have not been able to make the spring show in 5 years, because someone in Corporate thinks maintenance shutdowns in April are a good idea. Even when the original outage schedule misses the spring show, someone usually manages to finagle the dates to where it's right over top of Spring Carlisle.
This year's Spring Carlisle, I'll be trying to restart one boiler after a 6-week shutdown while simultaneously shutting down another one for a 2-week job. There's times I think some of these corporate outage schedulers have lost their damn mind.
'Course it's like me boss told me in this year's performance evaluation. "Y'all keep on outperforming the corporate outage efficiency goals like you do, they're gonna keep on scheduling these big shutdowns back-to-back."
Yeah, and if we drop, then we get dinged if not outright hammered.
May you all find some goodies at a good price!

No, I've never been to that show,I live about 40 mi. from Carlisle It would probably take at lest 3.5 hours to get to the NY line so....
The LI show was great the one or two times I have been there. Trouble is for me I must go on the Verranzano bridge home and that weekend they close one level so the home journey is a B-ouch. Couple of hours in bumper to bumper on the belt parkway with a stick car (66 delta) is bad news. If I only had a 40 minute ride to Carlisle I would be there a few days.
