Joe,

Looking forward to Spring Carlisle ! Especially since I missed it last year. My plan is for Thurs as well, put in my vacation day on Jan 2 Hope to see you, and Bob, then.

GM's at Carlisle will be a great one as well this year for Olds! H/O and Toronado special displays and guests! Planning on that one as well.

Definitely!!!!!!!!!!

Definitely stop by --that's one of the many reasons we go Spring Carlisle --
there are many many reasons to "get your money's worth" @ Carlisle....
(Certainly hope ALL of you aren't going there for the food !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Rather than HAVE to walk all 95 acres -- go to the important stops , get the FREE Carlisle book at the gate -- and map out the sites and people you WANT to see.... the rest is a bonus -- or "on the way"......(It pays to not just "wander aimlessly".....)

This is a place that with the same hobby -- antique cars -- (and we are shrinking, thanks to funerals, and young whippersnappers having no interest...) -- that we can become friends for life!!!! Isn't that what it is all
about?!?!?

That being said, MAKE SURE you stop by I I 118 - 119 (middle of the infield (I) Row I spots 118 - 119 (up toward the car corral) )
Lots of juicy OLDSMOBILE parts, some OEM DELCO and A C , and a whole lot more..... Definitely stop by while you're there -- EVERYBODY !!!!!!
Yours, Craig..........

If anyone is looking for some Olds stuff that i may have and can deliver at Carlisle -- give me a shout and i will bring it along.
Gonna take mostly small stuff this year -- big stuff is getting too heavy for me to lug in and out of trailer. Biggest think i will have is a 69 442 hood. And possibly the canadian 69 442 3.55 posi 12-bolt chevy rearend if it isnt sold before i leave.
Again on the hill next to shale bank just down from the big flagpole in NH 11 & 12. in case you may be wondering NH stands for North Hill!!
Look me up to just say "Hey" and chat or introduce your self! Aways good to meet you guys face to face! Palladin will be there too!!

I'll be there on Thursday looking for a better than average 68 442/S hood.
Please let me know if any of you will have one.

I hope they have that place a little more organized than the Auto Fair in Charlotte. Vendors with a junkyard mix of every make known to man seemed to be the norm there. That was disappointing to me.

You're missing the whole point. Finding the obscure part you need in a humbled mess is half the fun. Prices will be lower also. Parts that are sorted and marked will cost more.

No, I get it. The thrill of the hunt. However, for those who don't have a lot of time in "the hobby" the big mountains of parts are a little overwhelming.

Anyway, what's your best find so far and what's the most overpriced item?

Got back an hour or so and left my house at 4am. Nice weather, nice day, and vendors were about all there. I had a choice of 3, 67 Cutlass fenders. The 300 dollar one was a bit rough and the 2, 250 dollar ones had some dents and bondo already so i passed on them all. Got a few odds and ends and a pair of 67 Cutlass wheelwell trim for 5 bucks each. My kid got some stuff for his stepside. All is well.

There wasn't a lot to take pictures of. I spent the morning shooting the **** with Tweed and Brett. The most olds parts I saw all day was at their place. Even Joe P's tent was closed up tight about 10:30 when I stopped by. I will qualify that I didn't come to buy anything. Brett delivered a nice set of chrome 15x7 SS3's that I bought from a guy on FB in MI. Thanks again Brett!

Well, I'm at home now so. I don't care if there chevy or not hub caps cover the whole thing I've had a set of NOS hub caps for a few years. I thought at the time less then $10 bus per rim was too good to pass up. Figured I should be able to get my money back any way. My son's car is broke down again so that's what I'm doing tomorrow plus he'll have my truck till the car is fixed.

Looks like a great deal to me. My family can barely go through the drive-thru for that.

Was there on Thursday and didn't find the hood I was looking for. It's not easy to walk past something so big and distinctive so I assume none were there.
Met a bunch of nice Olds folks like Ron, Dana, and Tweed. You know your in good company when it seems like everyone has a ram rod.
Had a good time regardless with good weather and so much cool stuff to browse. It required some serious restraint not to come home with a bunch of stuff that would likely end up on the garage wall.
My last trip to Carlisle was about 10 years ago. Things have changed quite a bit since then. The swap meet had tons of truck parts and the car corral has a new generation of vehicles. I guess changes are to be expected or maybe my memory is just too distant.
Funny how I never realized how much of a social event it is. By 3:00pm cigar and beer consumption is in full swing. I guess this is the car guys equivalent to going fishing with the guys for the weekend.

I also got a paslaud wide crown staple gun $5 needs rebuilt but it's an old one and there're the good ones. And 6 8-track tapes 2$each which is twice what I usually pay but the lady said they did play. Kiss distroyer, can't remember right the others right now but they where just as good. That time period or earlier. Alot of smaller stuff. Wrenches for buck.

Sorry we missed you. Decided to go out and spend money in the morning, opened the tent at noon. Had dinner with Tweed and Brett. Only sprinkles Fri AM. Car corral is packed. Been one of the best Spring Carlisles in at least five years.
